Organizations, Individuals Win Volunteer Awards
3,900 Hours Contributed
May 20, 2010Three organizations have been honored with Birth To Three’s top volunteer awards for 2009-10. They are:
Enterprise Rent-a-Car
Levi Strauss
Eugene Kiwanis Club
Each organization serves Birth To Three in a variety of capacities and has provided volunteer support for years.
Among individuals honored as leading volunteers, Birth To Three recognized:
Gerri Couper, Jones and Roth CPAs – 85+ hours working on tax returns and audits while working full-time and being pregnant
Andy Moore, Donna Moore and Fran Curtis – outstanding effort for Cirque de Famille, Birth To Three’s major annual fundraiser. Curtis was honored earlier in 2010 as Birth To Three’s Champion of Children.
Rebecca Paschall – 53+ hours as a community volunteer
Other awards were:
Ambassador Awards - given to an individual demonstrating exceptional recruitment abilities within their sphere of influence - Breanna Cline - Oregon Community Credit Union for recruiting a group to manage registration at Cirque for two years; Lindsay Ferreira - Marist High School for 180 volunteer hours and recruitment of 25 Marist students for multiple volunteer needs; Raina Jewell - UO intern - 115 hours and recruitment of 35 UO volunteers for Cirque.
Legacy Awards - given to Birth To Three babies who return to volunteer as young adults - Dayna Klute, Class of 1998, for 300 hours over the last three years in all programs; Russell Arkin, Class of 1993, for 75 hours as a children's program volunteer
For more than 30 years, Birth To Three has provided parenting education in the Lane County, Oregon area. Nearly 90,000 parents and children have been served. Birth To Three's vision is that every child will be nurtured by loving, skilled parents.
